Hello, this is a new feature on NeuroTracker.net that will run on a weekly basis. It will highlight recent plays from across professional and amateur leagues in the world. Each week, we will present one “Hero” that shows superior awareness and tracking skills that enable them to perform a great play. We will also present one “Zero” who could have done better if they did more NeuroTracker training. NeuroTracker allows amateurs and professionals to improve their focus and attention. It can also help with a wide array of cognitive functions.
Hero – Gianluigi Buffon
Some things get better with age. Gianluigi Buffon is the prime example.
The 37-year old goalkeeper has a very long resume that includes multiple trophies and awards including winning the World Cup in 2006 and 8 Serie A trophies. He shows superior awareness saving two shots in a row. As impressive as the first save was, the fact that he was the only one on his team to be able to anticipate the second shot and be in perfect position to save it is a great display of why he deserves to be considered in the discussion for top goalie of all-time.
Zero – Handball Goalie
You have to give a lot of respect to handball goalies. Not only the movement is really quick, but the area is pretty small. So a lot of passes happen very quickly, in a small area and you get shots completely unexpectedly. In addition, defenders are limited in the amount of challenging they can apply on forwards.
All in all, huge hat-tip to all of you. Unfortunately for our goalie, he just has a momentarily mental lapse and completely misses the ball hovering over and then bouncing right into the goal.
Any other highlights caught your eye that represent a great awareness play? Anyone you think needs some extra NeuroTracker training?
